‘Low risk’ for Luxembourg from mpox, ministry says

The risk posed by Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, to Luxembourg’s population is “low”, the health ministry said on Friday, after a case of a new strain of the disease was detected in Sweden a day earlier.

Clade I of Mpox caused an epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo in November, spreading through the region, and on Thursday a first case of the strain was found in Sweden.
