After 45 years together, Lafayette, Louisiana and Namur, Belgium, are still going strong as international sister cities.
Last month, officials from both cities celebrated the relationship with the unveiling of a mural depicting classic scenes from Acadiana. Accordions and T’fers, cypress knees, alligators and Lafayette’s Parc International can all be seen adorning the side of a building in Namur, the capital of the French-speaking Wallonia region in southern Belgium.
