While the cost of housing in Belgium is not going to decline anytime soon, prices have stabilised, according to Belgian Notary Federation’s Real Estate Barometer. In the first half of this years, 4.2% fewer houses were sold than in the same period in 2023, which had already seen a decline from the year before.
While fewer properties were sold over the last two years, prices continued to increase – until now. In Brussels and Wallonia, prices have even decreased somewhat. In Flanders, they are stable.
