The unseasonably rainy and cold summer weather that’s driven people indoors may be to blame for a 54% increase in reported Covid-19 cases at the end of last month, reaching a level not seen since last winter.

Luxembourg’s health department recorded 287 positive cases reported by laboratories in the last week of June, compared to 186 the previous week. That compared to 240 cases in the first week of the new year, but down from an average of more than 600 weekly cases through December.
