The number of uninsured people who require treatment and the frequency at which they seek consultations continues to grow, non-profit Médecins du Monde said in its annual report.
In 2023, 1,193 people visited one of Médecins du Monde’s care centres to get access to free medical treatment, up from 1,145 the year before. Aside from 2021 – when Médecins du Monde helped vaccinate citizens against Covid-19 – this is the highest number of patients the NGO has treated in one year since its arrival in the country in 2013.
