Germany to carry out checks at Luxembourg border during Euro 2024

Germany will impose checks at its border crossings with Luxembourg throughout the entire duration of the Euro 2024 tournament, which runs from 14 June to 14 July.

Germany has decided to up security along its borders with all nine neighbouring countries for the month-long competition, when thousands of football fans will descend on the country.

Cross-border workers from Luxembourg travelling back to Germany at the end of their workday will be no exception to the rule and can expect potential delays – although more detailed information about what sort of checks to expect has not yet been released by the government, the German news agency DPA…
