Mamer, where Finance Minister Gilles Roth was mayor for over 20 years, has accumulated debts worth more than €80 million, data published by the Home Affairs Ministry on Wednesday showed.
The ministry in answer to a parliamentary question published the debts of Luxembourg’s 100 municipalities as of the end of last year. Communes are funded through a mix of state subsidies but also local taxes levied, for example.
