Zara billionaire buys Luxembourg office

Amancio Ortega, Spain’s richest man and founder of the fashion empire behind Zara, has bought an office building in Luxembourg City for €175 million.

The Royal Park property sits between the capital’s Boulevard Royal and the city park, and offers 10,000 square metres of office space. Amongst its current tenants are law firms and private equity company CVC.

Ortega, who has a net worth of $122 billion (€112 billion) according to Forbes, purchased the property through his investment firm Pontegadea. It is the first time the family office bought real estate in Luxembourg, Reuters reported on Friday.
